Lori Raydo
Lori found Iyengar Yoga while living in Asheville, NC. where asana balancing techniques came in handy with her work and study in art restoration on high scaffoldings. Later moving to Portland to see real mountains and old growth forest, she got her M.Ed., at PSU. Like nature’s inspiration, Yoga practice gave her a way of having a healthy and healing relationship with her body. The attention to detail that is the hallmark of Iyengar Yoga gave her a pathway inward that opened a new way of being.
Working in the school system for over ten years made her aware of the importance of breath to physical and emotional health and cultivating a calm, clear mind. To share these benefits of Yoga, Lori became a Yoga Calm youth instructor and RYT with Yoga Alliance. Wanting to further her ability to help others, she studied and taught at Gudmestad Yoga and completed the JLYC Teacher Training program in 2019. After apprenticing with Julie Lawrence, Lori became a Certified Iyengar Instructor. She continues to study regularly with Julie Lawrence and Tonya Garreaud.
Lori deeply enjoys sharing the benefits of yoga with others. Her teaching is responsive and flexible to the diverse learning styles of different individuals. She blends physically demanding asana work with playful curiosity. Her aim is to lead her students while allowing them to stay connected to their own experience.
“To be alive in this beautiful, self-organizing universe – to participate in the dance of life with senses to perceive it, lungs that breathe it, organs that draw nourishment from it – is a wonder beyond words.” Joanna Macy
