Anuja Chhabra
“Yoga is the journey to Self”. Anuja’s yoga journey started at the age of eight, when she was introduced to asana practice at a Hatha yoga therapy ashram in India. She found the power of asana practice here, and it helped her with some health issues too. She has a doctorate in Speech Language Pathology and a background in scientific research.
Anuja’s focus returned to asana practice when she was introduced to Iyengar yoga in her adult life after she developed some skin issues and chronic hip pain. She believes that her practice has brought freedom from pain, a sense of poise, and pure joy to her life.
Her approach to teaching is direct and kind. She has attended workshops with many senior Iyengar yoga teachers. Anuja is currently working towards the level-1 Iyengar yoga teacher assessment under the tutelage of Julie Lawrence.
Anuja also loves to read, cook, hike, play board games, and travel with her husband and their two boys.

Alison is both caring and thoughtful. From the first class I took with her she made an attempt to connect with me and listen to where I am in my practice. She has a real enthusiasm for Iyengar Yoga which is exemplified by her precise adjustments and her creative approach to teaching. I’m genuinely excited to practice with her as she evolves as a teacher.
