Sally Hoesing is a Certified Iyengar Instructor, Registered Nurse and Certified Athletic Trainer. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and a degree in Nursing. Sally incorporates her experiences as a Registered Nurse working in Women’s Health into her classes for women, and her adventures as a mama influence her love for supporting postpartum mothers.

Sally began studying Iyengar yoga in 2000 in Iowa City, IA, with Nancy Footner. She completed a Teacher Training course with Julie Lawrence and continues to deepen her knowledge and experience by attending weekly classes with her teachers, Julie Gudmestad and Julie Lawrence, as well as studying with senior Iyengar instructors throughout the year. She is continually furthering her training through nursing and athletic therapy continuing education, including courses in Prenatal and Postpartum Exercise Design and Medical Therapeutic Yoga. She is a member of the American Holistic Nursing Association and the Iyengar Yoga National Association of the United States.

Florence Nightingale described the role of nursing “to put the patient in the best condition for nature to act upon him.”  Through her own practice, Sally has found yoga has the power to do just this.  Through her teaching she strives to help others discover their own potential.
